At Bay City Gym, we love seeing members commit to their goals and support each other along the way. Atawhai and Arona are a fantastic example of what can be achieved through consistency, determination, and teamwork.
They joined Bay City Gym last year with clear goals in mind. They wanted to get fitter, stronger, and healthier. What they have achieved since then is a testament to the power of showing up and putting in the work.
Atawhai has lost an impressive 10kg and built noticeable muscle definition in his shoulders, arms, and chest. His strength gains have been remarkable. In July last year, he was lifting 6kg on the lat pull down. Today, he is lifting 42kg. That kind of progression does not happen by chance. It comes from structured training, progressive overload, and consistency over time.
Arona’s journey has been equally inspiring. Since May last year, she has been focused on recovering from injury and rebuilding her body. Through dedicated and intelligent training, she has regained flexibility, rebuilt strength, and significantly reduced her pain. The result is a body that moves better and feels stronger and more capable.
Her motivation comes from her partner, her dad, and the person she sees in the mirror. That internal drive, combined with support from those around her, has made all the difference.
Training together has strengthened more than just their bodies. Atawhai and Arona support each other, encourage each other, and celebrate each other’s progress while still pursuing their own individual goals.
Their journey is proof that teamwork truly makes progress.
We are incredibly proud of both of them and cannot wait to see what they achieve next.
