When Tara began personal training with Christopher at Bay City Gym in February 2026, her goal wasn’t simply to get stronger.
After a hip replacement and several falls, one of her biggest concerns was maintaining her independence. She worried that if she ended up on the floor, she would not be able to get back up without assistance.
Together, Tara and Christopher developed a personalised training plan focused on improving balance, stability, mobility, and functional strength. The aim was not only to help her move better but to build the confidence needed to enjoy everyday activities without fear of falling.
The progress Tara has made in just a few months has been remarkable.
One of her biggest achievements has been learning to confidently perform a balance lunge, allowing her to safely get herself up from the floor. She has also developed exceptional balance, now holding a single leg balance for an impressive 1 minute and 30 seconds, far exceeding the goals she originally set for herself.
While these achievements are impressive, what matters most is how they have improved Tara’s day to day life.
She now walks her dog on the beach with greater confidence and feels much more secure navigating uneven surfaces and everyday activities. Tasks that once felt challenging now feel achievable, allowing her to enjoy life with more freedom and independence.
What we love about Tara’s journey is that it highlights how exercise is about so much more than building muscle or improving fitness. Sometimes the biggest victories are the ones that help us move through life with confidence, maintain our independence, and continue doing the things we love.
Congratulations, Tara. We are incredibly proud of the commitment you have shown and the progress you have achieved. Your journey is a wonderful reminder that it is never too late to build strength, improve balance, and invest in your future health and wellbeing.
Your story could be next.
